muse
I’ve been writing almost daily for over 5-years now, but it took quite sometime to realize I was in many ways stifling my creativity. I didn’t realize I needed to come to terms with my own identity as a writer, then let go of the notion that I need to write to meet any one’s expectations but my own. I’m enjoying the ride thus far, and feel like I’m just settling into my own. Though at times painfully humbling, feedback and mentoring from successful, accomplished writer’s such Craig Bickhardt, Sue Smith and Robin Frederick, as well as NSAI and SongU evaluations plus peer sessions within our local NSAI chapter, have all helped me develop as a songwriter.
“Creativity, it has been said, consists largely of re-arranging what we know in order to find out what we do not know.” — George Kneller
In the coming days, I’ll share some of the cool things I’m learning and aspire to accomplish via post or on this page. I’ve yet to put out an “official” debut CD/EP, but have some tracks loaded up if you’d like to listen…
